Defensible Space
Secured by design, Commercial Developments, Version 2, 2015, published by Secured by Design, suggests that defensible space can be defined as:
‘An environment where the physical characteristics allow the legitimate occupiers to assert influence and control to ensure their security. Secured by Design recognises the benefit of spaces that are recognisably private in nature, as such spaces promote a sense of ownership and responsibility by the people who live and work in them.’
